The Adobe AIR runtime enables developers to use HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash Builder or Adobe Flash Professional software, and ActionScript® to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser. Adobe AIR provides a consistent and flexible runtime environment for the delivery of applications to smartphones, tablets, desktop computers and televisions.

Both newly developed and existing Adobe AIR applications are eligible to enter the Challenge.
- Make sure your app is compatible with Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) or later
- Optimize your app for the Sony TabletTM S and Sony TabletTM P screen sizes and use SWC-based ActionScript Library for the Sony TabletTM P to detect the device and display a dual-screen layout. The top 80 projects selected as Finalists will receive prerelease access to the latest version of Adobe AIR and the SWC-based ActionScript Library for the Sony TabletTM P dual-screen detection with accompanying documentation.
- Sony TabletTM S has a 9.4-inch display, with 1280x800 resolution
- Sony TabletTM P has two 5.5-inch displays, each with 1024x480 resolution
